How To Be Healthy Step By Step – Easily!
|Being healthy can be very simple. The key thing we need to know to keep us on this path is “Why” we are choosing this. Most people I know choose to be healthy after experiencing health issues or after they had been advised of having a terminal illness. There are also those who never do. I personally choose to learn to be healthy because I wanted to grow old with a healthy body. Another reason was to be healthy so I do not get cancer as my dad passed away because of cancer. By the time he was diagnosed, it was last stage already.
To make this process easy, let us break it down into simple steps:
Step 1 Notice what you eat
Observation is important part of everything as it helps us understand what we do and it also makes us start thinking about why we do what we do. Was this a choice you made a long time ago or is this just the way you have been eating since very young? Or did you change your eating habits after a situation in your life?
In my experience, when I became aware of my habits, some of them dissolved without any effort.
Step 2 Be selective on what you eat
Once you start paying attention to what you eat, it raises your awareness in your food selection. It will assist you to note when you are eating due to carving or emotionally.
Once you see your food selection, to make a switch in your choice comes easily. Green vegetables give you healthy nutrients and take more energy to digest than carbohydrates (rice or bread etc).
Fruit gives you vitamin and nutrients and are easy to digest. Fruit gives you natural sugar to feed your sweet tooth rather than cakes or candy. ALWAYS have fruits at least 30 minutes before your meal. There are two reasons for this, apart of getting digested easily, they will also fill you up and make you eat less.
Just by following step 1 and 2, you will already feel more energy and start losing weight even.
Step 3 Notice how much exercise you get each day.
Watch your habits for 1 or 2 weeks to understand yourself and to see what you do. We don’t always know what we do and why we do it consciously as lots of what we do are habits that we had picked up when we were growing up. This observation will really open your mind.
Step 4 Just adding 10 minutes of stretching 2-3 times a week
Do this for 1 to 2 weeks and see what you are feeling.
It is only 10 minutes session you need, it shall be easy to allocate this from the 24 hours per day that you have.
If it is still challenge, you sure can break up these 10 minutes into two 5 minutes session.
Remember that you will try to find excuses not to do this, however, think about “WHY” you are started this in the first place.
Step 5 Start scheduling 15-20 minutes of exercise sessions 2-3 times per week (stretching will be part of this)
Now that we had started eating healthy, to increase our health exercise is an important part.
Exercise makes your body strong, clears your mind and adds positive energy to your body and mind.
Like the earlier session, you can break up the exercise sessions into two 10 minutes ones. Just make sure you do something. Even walking is an exercise.
Once you can keep these new habits, you surely will look and feel better.
